What about our name?

The origin of Your servant in Christ Ministries

The Beginning

For almost 40 years I served as a pastor with the Christian and Missionary Alliance, been a missionary to Switzerland, and taught in a Swiss Bible School, was the director of a vibrant prayer ministry, Prayer Transformation Ministries, and taught on prayer, revival and transformation.

In 2011, I was working the the ministry called The Sentinel Group, which produced video documentaries of God's transforming work around the world.

A Time of Transition

In September of 2011, my first wife, Marilou passed away from pancreatic cancer, and during a ministry trip to Joao Pessoa, Brazil, I was invited to come and work with that church as pastor of intercession.

My wife had died, the ministry at The Sentinel Group was coming to an end, I was too young for Social Security, and after much prayer and wise counsel, I accepted the invitation.

A New Ministry

But, I felt I needed a "ministry covering". One day, while walking around Lake Tye in Monroe, Washington, I prayed, "Lord, what should be the name of this ministry?" Now this is just me, but I did not want to have a "Steve Loopstra Ministries" name! As I was walking and praying, the Lord asked me, "How have you always signed your  correspondence?" I thought, for years I have always signed, "Your servant in Christ". Well, that was it.  As I continued to pray, and think about a "logo", I thought. of a terracotta washing basin and a towel with a jar of anointing oil, and a candlestick.

Then Something Happened...

That was a Wednesday and that evening I went to a prayer meeting at one of the local churches. The lights were dimmed and people were encouraged to sit quietly and prepare their hearts. After some time, the pastor invited us to rise and prayer walk around the room. When I stood to my feet and turned to join the group, there in front of me on a table was a washing basin, a towel, a jar of oil and a candle.

Pretty convincing confirmation!

So that has been our heart, so be a servant of the Lord, and serve his Church in the areas of prayer, revival and transformation.

BUT THERE'S MORE!

As I was praying over this name and getting things set up for the ministry...

The Lord said, "Look at the first letter of each word in the name."

OK, YSICM...

Look at it, what does it say?

Y...

S...

I...

C...

M...

The Lord said,

"Read it like this..."

Why

Yes

I

See

Him

Why yes! I see Him!

Lord willing through our ministry, people will be able to say,

Why yes! I see Him!
